This domain is set in a pretty large forest between Ciney and Rochefort and definitely not a place you would just stumble upon. However, it is well organized and run nicely. We decided to spend a whole Saturday at this domain last summer and had a nice time. The only downside we had was it was really hot and there were not a lot of places for shade. There is a mini golf course, big kid and little kid pool, playground, sand pit, cafe, drink station, tennis and basketball courts and lots of places to just walk around and spend the day. The place was also nicely staffed and everyone was eager to help and friendly.
There is a lot of beautiful space to walk around in, go ahead and get adventurous with nature.
Address: Rue de Pirchamps 1, 5580 Rochefort
Hours: The park is open all year long but they only open the pool and start charging fees starting March 31 to November 3
Costs: 10 Euro for adults and free for children under 6, but that pays for everything you want to do in the Domaine.
Know before you go
Boys must have european style tight swim suits. Girls with long hair must have bathing caps. Bathing caps are available for rent but just go ahead and buy some at Decathlon to keep on you. Most public pools require these caps.
The kid pool does have only one drawback. In order to enter it you must go through a walking pool and get sprayed by powerful jets. Children who scare easy are going to hate this. I hate it. Cold water sprayed right into your ears and nose. Make a game out of it or just be prepared to carry them through it. Do not try to drag them because there is a small step at the exit that is hard to see. If you drag them and they fall, they will scrap the heck out of their knees and thighs. Speaking from experience. Also, put your sunglasses up on the wall from the outside, go through, then go grab your glasses. If you wear them on your head they will get blown off.
Child’s pool is a wading pool, never deeper than your mid thigh. Bring balls or something for them to fetch. Can get boring.
Park as close to the bottom of the hill as you can. It is a long walk back up to the top after the kids are exhausted from playing.
